Mrs. Mina S. Davidson Evans, 76, of Rt. 5, Greencastle died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Putnam County Hospital at Greencastle. She had been a nurse for Crawfordsville schools for many years.
Mrs. Evans had also been supervisor of nurses in Riley Hospital at Indianapolis for a time. She was a graduate of John Hopkins School of Nursing at Baltimore, Md.
The former Crawfordsville resident was born near Whitesville Nov. 9, 1897, a daughter of Henry and Saloma Harshbarger Davidson. She attended Whitesville and Crawfordsville schools, graduating from Crawfordsville High School in 1915. She attended University of Illinois.
Mrs. Evans was a member of the Greencastle Christian Church.
She married Samuel Evans Jan. 1, 1932. He died in March of 1966.
Survivors include three sons, Grove of Darlington, Sam of Morris, Minn., and Max of Greencastle; two sisters, Ethel Mangus of Mullberry and Mary Stickler of New Market; and seven grandchildren.
Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. William Stone officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. ---typed by Walt W
