Mrs. Mary S. Evans, 82, died Friday morning in her home in Indianapolis. Funeral services where held Monday afternoon with burial in Crown Hill cemetery. Mrs. Evans was a resident of Roachdale many years and moved to Indianapolis where she resided 22 years. Mrs. Evans was born in Platte City, Missouri in 1854. While living in Kentucky she married Newton Evans who died 20 years ago. Survivors are five daughters: Mrs. LaVeta Bason, Mrs. Hattie Rust, Mrs Ferral Powell of Indianapolis; Mrs. G. W. Petty, of Sidney, Ohio, Mrs. Walter Oliver of Kingsport, Tennessee; two sons, Ralph and Samuel of Indianapolis, two grandsons and a great grandson; three brothers and three sisters ---- thanks so very much to Marilyn W. for sharing her Roachdale Times obituary collection - greatly appreciated !
