EGGERS, Raymond W. - Putnam

Raymond W. Eggers, 76, of Mont Verda, FL a native of Putnam County and former Crawfordsville resident, died Wednesday morning at a hospital at Orlando, FL. He was a son of Charles L. and Christina Morphew Eggers and was born Dec 9, 1893 southeast of Roachdale. he was educated at the old Eggers School No. 9 and Barnard HS. He was married to Vera Gordon at New Maysville. Mr. Eggers was a mail carrier in Crawfordsville for several years beginning in 1918. He moved to Indianapolis and was a contractor there until going to Florida. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Rovene Houseman of Chicago and Mrs. Gerdline McCammack of Mont Verde; two grandchildren, Randy Houseman and Stefinie Keller of Houston, TX; four great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Sylvia E. Nichols of Crawfordsville; a niece, Christina Myers of Lafayette and nephew, Lawrence Brady of Crawfordsville.. Funeral services are to be Sunday in Indianapolis.
