DUNLAVY, William - Putnam

William O. Dunlavy, 78, former Marion County Superior Court 3 Judge, died last night in the Indiana masonic Home at Franklin. At one time he lived at 2859 Sutherland here. Born at Fillmore, Putnam County, Mr. Dunlavy attended Central Norman College and the University of Valparaiso. For a time he taught school in Putnam County. In 1899, Dunlavy was graduated at the old Indiana Law School and opened law practice in Indianapolis. Previously he was associated with the law firm of Stoops & Stoops, later practicing alone. He was elected judge of Super Court 3 in 1926.  Mr. Dunlavy was a member of the Oriental Masonic Lodge, Knights of Pythias, Maple Camp of Modern Woodmen of America, Ben Harrison Camp of Sons of Veterans and the Indiana and Indianapolis Bar associations. Services will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow in the Masonic Home with burial at Franklin. Two sons, Robert W of Indianapolis and James O, Pasadena, California survive. - transcribed by kbz
