DODDS, John H. - CW - Putnam

The death of John H. Dodds age 81 years, a veteran of the Civil War occurred at the home of his son, SW Dodds, two miles east of Roachdale, Sunday and funeral services will be held from the home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with interment in the Roachdale cemetery. Mr. Dodds served in the 33rd Indiana Infantry and was a member of the Greencastle GAR Post which will give its ritual at the grave Wednesday. Mr. Dodds was born in Kentucky but has been a resident of Putnam County since he was five years old. Two sons, a daughter and a sister survive.

It is requested that all the old soldiers who expect to attend the funeral of John Dodd at Roachdale Wednesday afternoon to meet at the fire department headquarters not later than 1:15 o’clock. Conveyance will be provided. -kz
