DENNY, Mary Finley - Putnam

Died – Denny – In Warren Township at the residence of JM Dunnington, April 21, 1882 of pneumonia, Mrs. Joseph Denny, aged 90 years. She had lived in the same place for nearly 60 years and Dr. Layman had been her physician for over 50 years. A son lives in California, another in Washington Territory and one in Kansas, all of whom were Union soldiers in the late war. Four daughters also surviving her – Mrs. JW Sherrill, Mrs. JN Dunnington, Mrs. Nosler of Iowa and one other whose name we are unable to learn.  Mrs. Denny was above the average in intellect and of the highest character. She belonged to the Baptist Church. Interment at Deer Creek Church Sunday. Funeral sermon by Elder Tabor. – kbz
