George W. DAY, aged seventy-nine years, a well-known farmer of Fairplay Township, died March 23. He was the father of nine children, seven of whom are still living, namely: William N. DAY, of St. Louis; Charles DAY, of Battle CREEK, Michigan; Mrs. Dory INGERSOLL, Worthington; Mrs. C. C. BRYANT, Freedom; Mrs. Arch KRAMER, Lyons; Mrs. Ed MARTINDALE, Worthington, and Mrs. Oscar BARTLEY, Switz City. The funeral was held March 24, conducted by Rev. W. MORRIS. Interment in the Dixon Cemetery.
[Note: George Washington Day was born in Tennessee and came to Putnam County in 1855. He was the brother of James Wyley Day and Nelson B. Day, both late residents of Putnam County.]
