DAVIS, Stella Todd - Putnam

LINDEN – Mrs. Stella I. Davis, 77, a life resident of the Linden area, died at 4:50 p.m. Monday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville where she had been a patient since last Wednesday. She had been in failing health for the past year. She was a member of Linden Baptist Church and had attended Linden schools. Born April 2, 1894, in Monroe County, she was a daughter of James M. and Elizabeth Helms Todd. She married Marion (Happy) Davis Nov. 25, 1914. He preceded her in death in 1958. Survivors include three sons, Marion of Linden, James of Indianapolis and Howard of Jensen Beach, Fla.; a brother, Walter Todd of Roachdale; a sister, Mrs. Sarah J. Perry of New Ross; nine grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Linden Baptist Church where the body will lie in state one hour prior to service. Rev. Leon Ellis will officiate. Burial will be in the Linden Cemetery. Friends may call at Helms Funeral Home at Linden after 2 p.m. Wednesday. – jlr
