DAVENPORT, John Dennis - Putnam

John Dennis Davenport, 78, died early Tuesay morning. Funeral services will be at Chastain funeral home this afternoon, with burial in North Salem cemetery. Born near North Salem, October 31, 1859, the son of George and Drucella Pennington Davenport. In 1900 he moved to California and returned to Indiana after sixteen years. He first married April 13, 1882, to Lucinda Dean, she died 1910, he second married Mary J. Wilson in 1916, she died March 4, 1927, he third married May 16, 1929 to Emma Kelly, she survives. Other survivors; sister, Mrs. Henry Wilson of near here, a brother Edward of Stockton, California and two grandsons; Leslie and Cecil Russell of Fresno, California.  -- thanks so very much to Marilyn W. for sharing her Roachdale Times obituary collection - greatly appreciated !
