DARNELL, Thomas - Putnam

Thomas E. Darnell, 79 years old, died yesterday in his home at 3354 North Illinois Street. He was born at Bainbridge and had lived in Indianapolis since 1924. Mr. Darnell was a traveling salesman for the King Candy Company and National Candy Company 20 years. During WWII, Mr. Darnell was a civilian employee at Ft. Harrison in administrative work. After that he retired. He was a member of Greenfield Christian Church. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in Flanner & Buchanan Fall Creek Mortuary. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. in Brick Chapel north of Greencastle. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Mabel Darnell; a son, Gilbert R. Darnell both of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Cora D. Waltz of Seattle, Wash and a grandson. - transcribed by kbz
