Marion F. Curtis, 69, Roachdale, died Monday at the Ladoga Health Care Center in Ladoga after an extended illness. Bom Sept. 7, 1922 in Randolph County, Ind., he was the son of Clarence and Blanche (Alvy) Curtis. On Dec. 17, 1955, he married Susanna (Denman) Norman. She survives and lives in Roachdale. Mr. Curtis was a heavy equipment operator in construction before retirement. He was also a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Indianapolis American Legion Post 777 and Indianapolis Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 2693. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Dennis Lee Curtis, Columbiana, Ohio; two daughters, Susetta Curtis, Florida, and Mrs. Dan (Carol Ann) Reed, Huntington, Ind.; two stepsons, Clifford Norman, Portland, Ind., and Thomas Norman, Decatur, Ind.; six sisters, Helen Sargent, Bradford, Ohio, Mrs. Kenneth (Florence) Campbell, Redkey, Ind., Clara Guthrie, Winchester, Ind., Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) Geeseman, Dunkirk, Mrs. Gerald (Carrie) Thomas, Marion, and Dorothy Kinman, Omaha, Neb.; 15 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren. Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Portland Chapel of Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home. Rev. Phill Jellison will officiate. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and until time of service Thursday. Burial will be in the Center Cemetery, located west of Portland. Military graveside rites will be conducted by members of the Portland American Legion Post 211.
