Sarah Elizabeth Cooper was born in Tazewell, Tennessee, October 17, 1824, moved to Greencastle, Indiana with her parents in 1834. Was married to Henry Crowley on December 11, 1844. Eight children were born to them, all but one of whom are living, Mrs. Emma Senix (sic), of Appanoose county, Iowa, who died August 10, 1898, of quick consumption. Two daughters reside in Webster county, Nebraska: Mrs. A.C. Bon and Mrs. Samuel Bruner. The oldest son, Samuel W. Crowley and the second daughter, Mrs. A.J. Ewing, reside in Pawnee county, Nebraska. Two sons, Archie and Thomas, and the youngest daughter, Mrs. Ed. Lewis, reside near Unionville, Iowa. Deceased came to Nebraska in September 1882, and married Henry Waller December 18, 1882. She has been a great sufferer from nervous debility almost all her life. Her death was caused from blood poisoning, brought on by sloughing of a cancerous tumor. Mrs. Waller’s mother was a cousin to Mrs. Abraham Lincoln. Lovingly we laid her to rest, sweet, sweet, rest and may God be with us till we meet again. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Day of Cowles and the remains were laid at rest in the Guide Rock cemetery. - kbz
