Highly Respected Woman Passes Away at Daughter's Home - Funeral Wednesday

Roachdale, Jan. 11 - Mrs. Francis Jane Crosby, age 83, passed away Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ethel Sutherlin. She was the daughter of Henry and Julia Bell Cline. Death came as a result of injuries she received from a fall last November. Since that time Mrs. Crosby has been confined to her bed. Her husband, Joseph H. Crosby, preceded her in death about 60 years ago.
The deceased is survived by two children, Alex Crosby and Mrs. Ethel Sutherlin, both of Roachdale; three grandchildren, Mrs. Lelia Toy of Los Angeles, Calif., J. B. Crosby of Greencastle, and Paul Sutherlin of Roachdale; one great grandchild, Charles Toy, of Los Angeles, and one half-brother, Ben Cline, of Dallas, Texas.
Mrs. Crosby has spent her entire life in and near Roachdale. She has been a member of the Presbyterian church for a number of years.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. Frank Peake in charge. Interment will take place at the Roachdale Cemetery.
After Joseph's death in 1864, she moved back in with her parents and is listed with them in the 1880 census for Roachdale, Franklin Twp., Putnam Co., Indiana (stamped page 359), taken by Thomas Grider on 16 June.
