Byron Crosby, 68, a retired farmer died at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis Tuesday morning. The son of Joseph Harve and Martha Miller Crosby, he was born Aug 21, 1899, was a life long resident of Roachdale.  Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Margaret A. Crosby; son, Joseph E. Crosby; daughter, Mrs. Rebecca C. Hartberg, infant granddaughter, Gretchen Marie Hartbert and son-in-law W Keith Hartberg of Notre Dame Indiana.  Mr. Crosby was a graduate of Ohio State University School of Agriculture and also attended Purdue.  He was a member of the Roachdale Christian Church, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, Roachdale Masonic Lodge, and the Indianapolis Riviera Club.  In 1956 he was appointed to serve on the Advisory Council of the local Order of DeMolay and was a Demolay Uncle. He served as chairman of the Council at the time the local chapter was organised.  For several years he served on the local Boy Scout Council.  Memorial services for Mr. Crosby will be held at the Perkins Funeral Home in Roachdale on Thursday at 3 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home between 7-9 on Wednesday evening. The family requested that instead of flowers, contributions in his memory be sent to either The American Diabetic Association, 18 E 48th St, NY NY 10017 or to The American Cancer Society, Indiana Division (for research) 445 N Penn Street, Indianapolis 46204. – kbz
