Rockville – Services for Ruby Belle Crooks, 69, Rockville
will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Gooch Funeral Home in Rockville. She died at
6:10 p.m. in Vermillion County Hospital, Clinton. Born July 29, 1923, in
Cloverdale, she was the daughter of George Ross and Minta Katherine Hartshaw
Shillings. In 1942, she married Chester A. Hamm. On Dec 25, 1952, she married Paul Stewart,
who died Aug 30, 1965. On Aug 20972, she
married Samuel Crooks, who survives. Mrs. Crooks was a member of First Baptist
Church and Women of the Moose Post 138, both in Greencastle and the Fincastle
Canasta Club. She had been employed by Angwell Curtain Co, Taylor Photography
and Offset Printing Co all in Greencastle. Also surviving are three daughters,
Nancy Hamm Williamson, Logansport, Paul Stewart Brown, Mooresville and Penny
Stewart, Greencastle; two sons, Richard Stewart, Fincastle; and Mark Stewart,
Bainbridge; two sisters, five brother, nine grandchildren and one great
grandchildren. Four brothers and one grandson preceded her in death. Burial will be in Blakesburg Cemetery in
Fincastle. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today in the funeral home where a
Women of the Moose Memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. – kbz
