CRANE, Mayme Tankersley - Putnam

Wingate – Mrs. Mayme Tankersley Crane, 87 of Wingate died at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday in her home. She had been ill several weeks. Mrs. Crane was born near Colfax and had resided most of her life in Wingate. She was first married in 1908 to Frank Cottrell who died in 1912. In 1922 she married Joseph W. Crane and he died in 1925. Mrs. Crane was a member of the United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star and also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary 174.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clara E. Robbins of Wingate and Mrs. Genevieve Neal of Greencastle. - kbz
