Death Summons Abner Cox, 73

Abner (sic - Obadiah 'Obey') Cox, 73 years, passed away Saturday morning at 12:30 at his home on R. 3, Greencastle. Mr. Cox has been ill for the 3 or 4 years. He is survived by his wife, Emma (Cox), five sons: Virgil, Madson Twp; Eugene, Clay County; Abner of Monroe Twp; Chauncey of Jefferson Twp.; and Leslie, U. S. Army; three daughters, Mrs. Oscar Brattain of Lena, Mrs. Alfred Craig of Brazil; and Mrs.Roy Rominger of Greencastle; two brothers, Lonnie (Alonzo) of Parke County, and Cleve of Greencaslte. Two sisters, Mrs. Charlie (Mary) Cox, Madison Twp; and Mrs. Matthew (Nannie) Owens of Montgomery County. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Note this is the obituary for Obadiah "Obey" Cox. An error was made when the name of Abner was given. His parents were: Richard Marion I. Cox & Martha W. Cox. He was born March 02, 1871 and died May 26, 1945. Obey Cox is my G-Uncle.
