Greencastle – Bertha E. Courtney,
85, Greencastle, died Friday in Putnam County Hospital at Greencastle. A native
of Boone County, she had been a bookkeeper for First National Bank at
Plainfield 20 years, retiring in 1971. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign
Wars Auxiliary at Greencastle and Central Christian Church at Lebanon. Services
will be held at 10:30 a.m. in Russell & Hitch Funeral Home at Lebanon where
friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday. Survivors include her husband, Clarence
E. Courtney. - kbz
