Waveland, Martha Jane Cotton, 71, Waveland resident died Monday night at 8:30 o'clock at the Shannon Nursing Home in Crawfordsville. She had been in failing health for three years, in serious condition for two months. Death was the result of a stroke. Born Sept 30, 1878 in fountain County, she was the daughter of William F. and Mahala Keller. She was married to William Cotton in Fountain County, July 9, 1895. Mrs. Cotton was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church. Surviving are five sons, Francis and Auston both of Crawfordsville; Wesley of Waveland; William of Linden and Clifford of Alamo, a daughter, Mrs. Leonard W. Haskett, of Waveland; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Leighty of Mellott and Mrs. Flossie Simmons of Terre Haute; four brothers, Aaron Keller of Logansport; Harry Keller of Crawfordsville; Manson Keller of Ladoga and Howard Keller of Pontiac, Ill; 30 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Freedom Baptist Church. Burial will be in Freedom cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour before the services. Friends may call at the Machledt funeral Home after 3 p.m. Tuesday and untl noon Wednesday. - kbz

Martha Jane COTTON, 71, died Monday night March 27 at 8:30 in the Shannon Nusing Home in Crawfordsville. Mrs. Cotton had been in failing health for 3 years. Born Sept 30, 1878 in Fountain County, she was the daughter of William F. and Mahala Keller. July 9, 1895 she married William Cotton who preceded her in death Feb 6, 1949. Funeral services were held in the Freedom Baptist Church where Mrs. Cotton was a long time emmber. Rev. EF Prevo officiated at the funeral Wednesday afternoon with burail in Freedom Cemetery. Surviving are 5 sons: Wesley of Waveland; Francis and Austin both of Crawfordsville; William of Linden; Clifford of Alamo; a daughter, Mrs. Leonard Haskett of Waveland; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Leighty of Mellott and Mrs. Flossie Simmosn of Terre Haute; four brothers, Aaron Keller of Logansport; Harry Keller of Crawfordsville; Manson Keller, Ladoga and Howard Keller of Pontiac Illinois; 30 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. - kbz
