Mrs. Anna Alice Martz Cosby, 68, sister of Charles Martz of Roachdale died at her home in New Market Thursday night at 11 o’clock as the result of a stroke of paralysis, suffered on Sunday April 10. Mrs. Cosby was born near Darlington on October 25, 1869, the daughter of John and Mary Martz. On October 6, 1889 she was married at Lebanon to Oliver M. Cosby. Mrs. Cosby was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons, Bernie Cosby of New Ross, Lando Cosby of Waveland, Douglas Cosby of Brookston and Lee Cosby of Thorntown; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Hooper of New Ross and Mrs. Alma Drake of Ada, Okla and three other brothers, Alonzo Martz of Whiting, Ind and Lee and Walter Martz of Charlottesville.  Twelve grandchildren also survive. The funeral was held from the Freedom Baptist Church at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, with burial in Freedom Cemetery. – kbz
