CORNS, Walter A. - Putnam

Cloverdale – Walter A. Corns, 90 of Cloverdale died at noon Saturday at Putnam County Hospital in Greencastle. He was born in Owen County Dec 23, 1878 the son of Harrison and Amy (Hicks) Corns. His wife, the former Ethel Hunger died in 1964. Mr. Corns had been a well-known Cloverdale blacksmith. He was a member of the Cataract Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lola Adams, of Martinsville; one step son, Loyd Hunter of Cloverdale; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Whitaker Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Ranard officiating. Burial will follow in Cloverdale cemetery. – kbz
