CORNELL, Ben - Putnam

Died at Rockville Nursing and Rehab.

Son of Benjamin and Bertha (Hetrick) Cornell.

Married Clara Wilbur April 1, 1941 at Crawfordsville. She preceded him in death February 17, 1988.

Survivors include children Jeffrey Cornell, Roxie Lowe, Thomas (Teresa) Cornell, Celia (Gary) Scott, Robert (Christine) and John Cornell; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Gabrielle Cornell, siblings Mary and John Cornell and Martha Reagan, and two sons-in-law, Richard Lowe and Rusty Galvin.

1938 graduate of Alamo High School.

Ben served in the United States Army During World War II.

He then worked as a machinist at California Pellet Mill retiring after 32 years.

He enjoyed gardening, animals and spending time with his family and friends.

Service 10am Wednesday, May 27 at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, Waveland, with Pastor Carl Huxford officiating. Visitation 4-8pm Tuesday.
