George H. Cooper died at his residence, 8 miles north of this city, Wednesday at 8 p.m. after a lingering illness.  He was born at Mt. Sterling, Ky Aug 17, 1826, coming with his father John and Sarah Motley
Cooper to Putnam County when about 4y ears of age, settling in the vicinity of Bainbridge, aftewarrd moving with father and mother near residence where he died. To him and his devoted wife were born 13 children: 9 boys and four girls; 10 with mother yet survive, and all being able to be present in his last moments.  He was an honest and upright citizen and one among Putnam County's most successful farmers and stock raisers. The funeral services will be held at Brick Chapel ME Church, Jan 1, at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. JJ Claypool of Stockwell, Ind    --- kbz
