Last rites were being planned today at Clayton for Mrs. Ralph Cooper, 35-year-old mother of three children, who met almost instant death Friday afternoon when the automobile she was driving was demolished by a fast train on the Pennsylvania line at a crossing in Clayton. A check-up at the scene of the accident disclosed that the Cooper automobile was carried a distance of 1200’ before trainmen could bring the passenger train to a stop. Besides the husband and three small daughters, the crash victim is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. AN McClure of Rushville, two brothers and two sisters. The body was taken to the Jackson Funeral Home in Clayton. The Cooper family resides in the Hazelwood community south of Clayton. – kbz
