Carl E Coons of Russellville Dies

Carl E Coons, 71, Russellville, died at 3 pm Thursday at his home here after a lengthy illness. Mr. Coons was a member of the Russellville Christian Church, Knights of Pythias, American Legion, and the World War I Veterans at Greencastle. A Montgomery County native, he was born September 28, 1895, a son of Theodore D. and Nora Shockey Coons. Surviving are the widow, Mary, Mrs. Fern Straub, of Monrovia, Calif; a brother, Elmer T. Coons, of Crawfordsville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Sunday in Russellville Christian Church with Rev. R.D. Spencer of Bloomington officiating. Burial will be in the Russellville cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at graveside. Friends may call at the McGaughey & Son Funeral Home here after 1 pm.
