Services for Mrs. Amy Cooksey, 88 were held Tuesday at Bradgate United Methodist Church with burial in Clinton-Garfield Cemetery, Rolfe. Lindhart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Cooksey died at Humboldt Care Center South Friday, Aug 3. Surviving are sons: Earl, West Bend; Glen, Janesville, Wis; Dale, Rolfe; a daughter Mrs. Vincent Deerbs, Omaha, Neb 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Born in Reelsville, Ind Amy Harris married James Cooksey in 1904 and they lived in Brazil, Ind until 1908 when they moved to Gilmore City. She has lived in the Gilmore City-Bradgate-Rolfe are since that time. Mr. Cooksey died in 1942 and she continued to live at Bradgate where she was employed at the public schools as assistant cook for the hot lunch program. She taught the adult Sunday school class at United Methodist Church from 1948 to 1962 and was a member of WCSC of that church. The Rev. Warren Bintz officiated at final rites for Mrs. Cooksey. Casket bearers were Gene Madson; Noble Hemerson; Lee Burris; Donald Brandhoij; Arthur Zeman and Bernard Jacobs. Special music was provided by Rev. Bintz, soloist accompanied by organist Mrs. Milford Zeman. Floral arrangements were in charge of Beryl Dickey and Mrs. Donald Brandhoij, Morris Fuller and Milford Zeman ushered.
