Willie, son of Mrs. Jane and William H. Coates of this place, departed this life on Monday the 21st inst – aged four years.
Our little Willie’s gone – The angels took him to Haven – to swell the choir of infant voices – ‘Round the throne of Hi, who once – Did take your children in his arms – And blessed them – for of such – His kingdom’s made – Yet O1 how much we’ll miss him – His little prattling tongue, no more – Will lisp the name of “mother,” Nor his voice be heard echoing – thro room and hall in the glad gush – Of Happy childhood. His little sports are o’er – His voice is hushed in endless slumber – His little busy feet are still, no more – His arms will clasp us in a long and fond – Embrace, he’s lost to us forever, yet not – Forever: “The Shepherd,” took his little – Lamb and carries him so gently on – His kind and loving breast. And we – Shall meet again – meet, where grief And tears and parting is unknown, When we have borne our sorrows and – Have been made, “Meet for the Master’s – Use, when our barque is safely moored – In the still haven of eternal rest, then – Shall we meet “our Willie,” together – Will we bow before the throne, and praise – His name “Who doeth all things well.” – Florence
