Died in Russell Township on
March 5 of diseases of pulmonary vessels, Mary Dulcenia, wife of Jackson
Clodfelter, aged 18 years 7 months 9 days. She was a daughter of John W.
Sutherlin; born July 26, 1877 (sic) was married November 5, ’77 to Jackson, a
son of Solomon Clodfelter one of the oldest settlers of said township. Deceased
was in the bloom of womanhood; adorned with the beauties of nature she was as
pretty as a peach and as loving as a lamb. No harsh words ever passed her lips.
Between her and her husband not one cross word was ever passed. She loved all,
and was loved by all. She was the mother
of two girls, one aged 16 months and the other 5 weeks. She leaves a host of
friends and relatives to mourn her loss. Yet she is in the other world and can
sing…O now I see Jesus and reign with him above, And drink that flowing fountain
of everlasting love; I’ll meet my friends in future for they are kind, I know –
my husband and my children -f or Jesus tells me so. O, Jackson will come for he
loves me dear; Yes, he will trust in Jesus and have sought to fear. - transcribed by kbz
