Mrs. Mary E. Clark, 79, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 21, at her home here following an illness of several weeks.

She was the daughter of Jonathan and Nancy Ann Smith and was born in Pulaski county, Ky., Dec. 12, 1865. She was married to Daniel P. Clark in 1885, who died in June 1940. Mrs. Clark was a member of the Russellville Christian church.

Survivors are a son, William Clark, of Russellville; two daughters, Mrs. Maude Cartwright of Indianapolis, and Miss Anna. R. Clark, a teacher in the Detroit, Mich. schools; a brother, Joe Smith, of Terre Haute; a sister, Mrs. Ella Vaught, of Rockville; three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Russellville Christian church Friday morning, conducted by the pastor, Rev. James G. Van Buren. Paul Heater, Donald Cooper and Miss Lucille Gardner sang "The Old Rugged Gross," "Rock Of Ages," and "It Is Well With My Soul." Accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Van Buren.

Pall bearers were C. B. Ades, Ray Clark, Elmer Smith, Fred Smith, Ralph and Charles McGaughey. Those who carried the floral tributes were: Mrs. C. B. Ades, Misses Betty Jo and Patty Ann Smith, Miss Billy Lou Clark, Mrs. Morris Smith, Mrs. Harry Ramsay, Mrs. L. L. Bickett, Mrs. Forrest Potter and Mrs. Irene McGaughey.

Burial was in the Russellville Cemetery.

We wish to thank the many friends for their expressions of sympathy during our mother's illness and passing; those who sent cards and made comforting visits during her six weeks stay in the hospital and after her return home.

We are especially grateful to the pastor, Rev. Ban Buren, for his supporting message; to Paul Hester, Donald Cooper and Lucille Gardner, who rendered inspiring music, and to Mrs. Van Buren, piano accompanist; also to Ralph McGaughey, the funeral director.
