Mrs. Martha Clark, known as Grandma Clark about Waveland, died August 3, aged 84 years. She had perfectly retained her faculties even to this advanced age. She had been a widow 40 years. Had buried 5 sons, one of whom was well known in this county some years ago as a prominent physician, Dr. Sanford T. Clark. Another was a lawyer at San Francisco and died while visiting here some years ago. One son, W.T. Clark, a prominent mason and citizen of Indianapolis was one of the five. One died of yellow fever in the South. Another died in youth. Mrs. Clark was remarkable for her fine womanly attainment and exhaustless hospitality. After her long and useful life the end was peaceful and her work well done. Mrs. Dryden of Russellville and Mrs. Thornton of Waveland, are the remaining children; with grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mrs. J.A. Hughes and Mrs. W.H. King of this city are among the grandchildren. The remains were were buried in the family cemetery at Russellville.
