CHRISTIE, Elva Proctor - Putnam

Elva C. Christie, 87, died Tuesday at Plainfield Healthcare Center. She had been a resident of Indianapolis since 1927.  She was born Aug 20, 1907 in Greencastle. Her parents were Jasper Proctor and Stella (Lewallan) Proctor. She married Ewell Christian Aug 20. 1927 in Paris, Ill.  He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Gaidene Morgan of Indianapolis; four sons, Richard Christie and Jerry Christie, both of Indianapolis; Leroy Christie of Plainfield and Paul Christie of Mooresville; five brothers, Ivan Proctor, Gerald Proctor and Leo Proctor, all of Greencastle; Don Proctor of Bainbridge and Edwin Proctor of Indianapolis; a sister, Mary Proctor of Greencastle; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  She also was preceded in death by a brother and one sister.  She was a homemaker. She was a member of DAR and Red, White & Blue Club. The Rev. Rusty Anderson will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn-Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home in White River Township. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. – kbz
