CHASTAIN, Ena E. Brann - Putnam

Funeral services for Mrs. Ena E. Chastain, 74, who died at the home of her son Stanley here Saturday morning, were held at the Chastain funeral home Monday afternoon. Burial was made in Roachdale cemetery. Mrs. Chastain was a member of Roachdale Chapter No. 247, O.E. S and Roachdale Christian church. She was born near Coatesville, a daughter of Cyrus and Sarah Brann and on September 3, 1844 was married to Miles E. Chastain, who died in 1934. Surviving besides the son at whose home she died are a brother Oscar of Coatesville, two grandchildren; Mrs. Herbert R. Jeffries of near here and Edwin E. Chastain of this place and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Chastain had been ill about three weeks following the fracture of a hip suffered when she fell. Chastain, John 6/4/1942 Funeral services were held at the Chastain funeral home Monday afternoon for John W. Chastain, 81, who died at the Putnam county hospital in Greencastle. Mr. Chastain was born near New Maysville January 19, 1851, a son of Harry and Julia Ragland Chastain. He had spent most of his life in the New Maysville community. Surviving are a brother Oliver Chastain of Indianapolis, a sister, Mrs. Mary Collins of Putnamville and several nieces and nephews.
