Roachdale resident. Died at Danville Regional Rehab Center.
Son of Casper Cleo and Blanch Perdiew Chastain. Survivors include son Robert D. (Judy) Chastain; daughters K. Sue Chastain and Amy (Lewis Richards) Cloncs; eleven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Stephen Chastain, and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
He served in the US Army during WWII and later retired from the Army Reserve as a Captain after 30 years. He retired from Allison at Indianapolis as a machinist after 30 years. He was a member of the Roachdale Christian church, Roachdale V.F.W., American Legion at Danville and Roachdale Masonic Lodge.
Service 11:30am Wednesday at Servies Morgan Funeral Home, Roachdale. Visitation 5-8pm Tuesday. Graveside military honors by Roachdale V.F.W.
