CHADD, Margaret Cooper - Putnam

Mrs. Margaret “Ruth” Chadd, 78, Greencastle, died late Wednesday at her residence. Born in Warren Township, Putnam County, on Oct. 25, 1906, she was the daughter of Henry and Minerva Scott Cooper. She attended Warren Township schools. She married Clifford Chadd. He preceded his wife in death. Mrs. Chadd was a member of the Greencastle Presbyterian Church. She had worked at the Royal Case and Monon Grill restaurants. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Sandra Chadd, Greencastle: two sisters, Dorothy Rice, Cloverdale, and Ethel Liechty, Bowling Green; four brothers, Leslie Cooper, Route 1, Cloverdale, Floyd Cooper, Terre Haute, Morris Cooper, Arizona, and Alton Cooper, Gosport, and two grandchildren. Mrs. Chadd was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers. Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Keith Geckeler officiating. Burial will follow at Cloverdale Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
