The announcement of the death of Miss Belle Cawley last Monday afternoon was a shock to the many friends of the family in this city. The cause of death was disease of the heart, but she was not considered dangerously ill until a few hours before the end. In fact, she was well enough to take a drive over to the city Sunday.  Miss Cawley was a daughter of John Cawley and was raised in this city, where she had a large circle of acquaintances. She was 23 years of age and was one of the brightest young ladies in the city; a graduate of DePauw Normal school and had taken special courses in different branches of education work. She was to have been married to Mr. Will Murphy of Crawfordsville on the 15th of next month. The funeral which was largely attended, occurred yesterday at 9 o’clock, the services being conducted at St. Paul’s Church, and that edifice was beautiful draped with floral designs. The following relatives and friends from a distance were in attendance at the funeral: Relatives: T. Layne & family, New Ross; Mrs. Eilen Layne and family, John Layne and family, Ladoga; Mrs. Patrick Layne and family, Crawfordsville; Mrs. Maggie Simpson, Indianapolis; Thos. Welsh and family, Thos.
