John Thomas Caton, a well known farmer and carpenter residing south of Reelsville in Putnam County died at his home at 7 o’clock this morning after a lingering illness of complications at the age of 71 years. Mr. Caton was born in Owen County but had spent most of his life in the vicinity where he had lived on a farm and worked at the carpenter trade when not busy on the farm. The deceased was a member of the First Christian Church of this city and was a faithful attendant at the services. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Sarah E. Caton and three daughters: Mrs. Clara Hayes of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Elma Robbins, of California and Mrs. Della O’Connell of Grant Forks, North Dakota. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Rev .Charles Caton of Illinola; Hugh Caton of Kokomo; Mrs. Sarah Miller of Minneapolis and Mrs. Dallas Morris of Clay City. Funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock Saturday morning at the ME Church at Reelsville, Rev. Fred Wolff, of this city officiating, interment Cottage Hill Cemetery. - kbz
