The death Sunday evening of B.D. Carver, takes from Putnam County one of its most generally known and widely respected citizens.  His death was very sudden.  Mr. Carver having been in this city as late as Saturday, apparently in the best of health.  He was a man of fine physique and his 70 years of life for the most part years of hard work had not succeeded in subduing his vigor.  Death was due to heart disease. Mr. Carver was a staunch supporter of the Republican party and had for many years, been a subscriber of the Banner Times. Four children are left; Rev. JW Carver of Danbury IA; Oscar Carver of Tennessee; Mrs. Wm. Ferguson and Clay Carver of Rockville. The deceased wife died just one year and one day before his death. A son, Mort was killed August 27, 1894 by a horse which fell upon him.  Mrs. Oscar Carver died April 22, 1897 and her son died Oct 15, 1896. The funeral will occur Wednesday at Union Chapel, Rev. UG Leazenby pastor of the Morton ME Church conducting. – kbz
