Wm. S. Carrington was born in Bath County, Ky October 6, 1816 and died at his home east of town Feb 22, 1906, being 89 years 4 months and 16 days old. Funeral services were held Friday at the house and the body laid to rest in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. His wife preceded him about two years but there are five children left to mourn his death: Dick, Charles, Hiram and T. Carrington and Mrs. Mary McKnight. He was married January 22, 1843 to Jemima M. Allen and they moved to Putnam County Indiana in October 1843 thence to Clay County in March 1877 where he lived on a farm till his death. He was well liked and highly respected and the family has the sympathy of the entire community - kbz
