CARPENTER, Felix A. - Putnam

Felix A. Carpenter died on the 20th inst exactly 53 years having been born Oct 21 1831.  He was the eldest son of the late Philip and Sallie Carpenter and was born on the farm, a part of which is now Carpentersville and where he died. Oct 28, 1852 he was married to Miss Susan F. Payne who survives him with three children all adults and head of families.  The community has lost one of its most upright, industrious and enterprising citizens and a kind and obliging neighbor.  For 25 years he had been a member of the ME Church.  He was buried beside his parents in the Piercy grave year near Poplar Springs Church on the following day the funeral being largely attended. - kbz
