CALVERT, Otis "Bud"

Otis "Bud" Calvert, 88 of Greencaslte died from natural causes on March 8, 1998, at his daughter's residence.  He was born Feb 20, 1910 in Bloomfield. He married Rosetta Bixler, who died in 1994. Calvert was employed as a farmer and timber cutter.  He served with the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the Veterans of Foren Wars in Gosport and American Legion in Spencer. Survivors include four daughters, Ilene Smiley of Greencastle, Mary Kirkwood and Sharon Dittemore, both of Spencer and Merea Durbin of Gosport;' four sons, Otis Calvert Jr. of Mooresille, Delmar Calvert of Plainfield, Michael Calvert of Missouri and Norman Calvert of Brazil; two sisters, Edna Clayton of Linton and Ruth Kemp of Jeffersonville; 23 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. The service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at West & Parrish & Peigo Funeral Home in Spencer. The Rev. David Warren will officiate.  Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contritbutions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
