CALLENDER, William R. - Putnam

Wm. R. Callender died Dec. 11 of dropsy, aged 68 years. He was born at Wilmington, Delaware, and came to Putnam County in 1845, and moved here in 57. He was a contracting carpenter, being noted as an unusually fine workman, and built many fine buildings. He leaves a widow and five children--a married daughter and four sons, all grown--to mourn his loss. He died on the 66th birthday of his wife and was interred at Forest Hill Cemetery on the 41st anniversary of his wedding (Wednesday). The funeral occurred Wednesday morning, the services being conducted by Dr. Town.
