Services for Jerald David Calbert, 57, Greencastle, an attorney, Greencastle city councilman and former Indianapolis resident will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church, Greencastle of which he was a member. Calling will be from 4-8 p.m. today in Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. He died Saturday.

Mr. Calbert had been a Greencastle city councilman and Putnam County attorney since earlier this year. Previously, he was city attorney and a Putnam County deputy prosecutor. He was also an attorney for Putnam County Hospital, the Putnam County Planning Commission, the Board of Zoning Appeals, Habitat for Humanity the Greencastle Housing Authority and FIrst Citizens Bank & Trust Co.

Mr. Calbert was a member of the boards of directors of the Cooperative Office Education Program, the Alumni Association of the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis and the West Central Indiana Economic Development Commission. He was also an adjunct professor of business law at DePauw University.

He served on the board of managers of the Indiana State Bar Association and was president of the Putnam County Bar Association for two years.  

Mr. Calbert was a 1960 graduate of Hanover College and 1966 graduate of IU Law School. He was an Air FOrce Reserve veteran.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church or the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana.

Survivors: wife Janet Hedrick Calbert; duaghter Lorilee Krohne; sons Brad, Eric Calbert; mother Etheline Hunt Calbert; four grandchildren.
