Robert H. Byrd, 68 of 2330 W 76th Prairie Village died today at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born in Raccoon, Ind and had lived in the Kansas City area 54 years. He was a retired road foreman of engines for the Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of Unity, Mr. Byrd was a member of the Temple Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of WWI and member of VFW post No 1700. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ethel Byrd of the home; two stepson, Lt. Thomas A. York, Yokasuka, Japan and John B. York, Junction City, Kansas and four sisters, Mrs. Edward F. Otto, 5824 Locust, Mrs. Ray Felter 421 E 68th Terrance; Mrs. Lucy McCreary, Norton, Kansas and Mrs. Nancy Crutchfield, Sherman, Tx. Services will be at 3 o’clock Monday at Stine & McClure Chapel, cremation. Friends may call at the chapel from 7-9 Sunday night. - kbz
