BYRD, Lora William - Putnam

Thursday, May 15, 1941 – Mrs. Lora Williams Byrd widow of Samuel Byrd, a former resident, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed Otto in Kansas City, Missouri on Thursday of last week. They left here 28 years ago after living for a number of years on the Moore farm east of town now owned by Frank Thompson. Funeral services were held Sat. in Kansas City. Burial in Ottawa, Kansas. Mrs. Byrd was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Williams and was born near Fincastle, April 28, 1862. She married Mr. Byrd in1880. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Nancy E. Crutchfield, Sherman, Tex; Mrs. Nelle Otto, Mrs. Lucy E. McCreary and Mrs. Rae E. Felter all of Kansas City, Mo and one son, Robert H. Byrd of Kansas City, Mo. Robert Y. Williams is a brother as is Frank Williams of Romney and Sherman Williams of Kansas City.   ---Submitted by Karen Zach
