BURNS, Lelia Pickett - Putnam

Petersburg – Lelia A. Burns, 88, 312 S 7th St, died Monday at 8:25 a.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.  She was born on April 25, 1891, in Putnam County to Charles M. and Nellie Adams Pickett.  She married Ray L. Burns on June 12, 1962. (sic)  She was a member of the Petersburg United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Petersburg Garden Club and Browning Club.  She was a retired school teacher and had been an area American Red Cross representatives. Surviving are a daughter, Charlotte Boggess of Fort Wayne; sons, James M. Burns  of Brigantine, NJ and Charles D. Burns of Louisville, Ky; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.  Friends may call today from 2-8 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home.  The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. the Rev. John Berry officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle. – kbz
