BURFORD, Rose Shirk - Putnam

Mrs. Rose BURFORD died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ida RICE in Roachdale, Thursday morning at nine o''clock following a five day illness. Death was due to paralysis. The deceased was born in Parke County May 18, 1855 the daughter of Lazerous and Mary SHIRK. She was married to Oliver Burford Feb 2, 1876. Her early life was spent in Parke County, the last three years in Roachdale. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ida RICE of Roachdale and Mrs. Mary VAUPELT of New York City, and a son, Mr. James Burford of Frankfort. Funeral service were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the home of the daughter in Roachdale with Rev. CL Airhart in charge. Burial was made in Waveland cemetery.
