Died Saturday
SERVICES FOR THE MARION TOWNSHIP FARMER TO BE HELD MONDAY AFTERNOON
Charles O. Bunten, aged 69 years, well know Marion township farmer, died Saturday morning at Morgantown.
A large crowd attended the funeral of Charles Bunten at the Christian church Monday afternoon. The Odd Fellows lodge of which he was a member had charge of the services at the grave.

To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die and the going of a Christian is but a passing over.
Charley Omar Bunten was born July 29, 1869 near Fillmore, Indiana and departed this life on November 5, 1938 at the age of 69 years, 3 months,, and 7 days. He spent his entire life on the same farm where his father was born and lived also. He was the 9th child of a family of 10 children of George Campbell and Mary Elizabeth Shackelford Bunten.
On Aug 10, 1890 he was united in Marriage to Lee Otie Gorham. To this union was born 2 children but less than 6 short years this companion was taken by death. On March 31, 1897 he was married to Fannie Wiley Zeiner who made little Mary and Harry a real mother.
On December 1887, under the ministry of O.P Badger, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was always faithful to the work of his church as long as health permitted.
He has been a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge for about 22 years.
Uncle Charley was a man who lived for his family. The comforts of his wife and children came first. Grandpa s house was a place which was always looked forward to going to by his loved ones.
For the last 13 months, he has endured great afflictions. Each day his suffering grew worse but until the last he tried to maintain hi jovial disposition. His great strength and comfort was in the truth that he knew he wouldn to have to suffer in the next life.
He leaves to mourn his passing a devoted wife, 5 children, 4 sons-in-law. 1 daughter, one Daughter-in-Law Bertha Phillips Bunten and one Granddaughter Rosemary Priest have all ready gone on to welcome Grandpa home. Several times he has said that it wouldn't be long until he could take little Rosemary in his arms again. Mrs. William Lauderman of Martinsville and Harry Bunten of Indianapolis. Mrs. Thaddeus (Icy Venetta) Bridges of Coatesville. Mrs. Ollie (Clarice Irene) Sutherlin of Fillmore and Mrs. William (Venola Hazel) Priest of Morgantown. 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. I do not know why oft round me
y hopes all shattered seem to be
od s perfect plan I cannot see
ut someday I shall understand
ho trials come through passing days
y life will still be filled with Praise
or God will lead through darkened Ways
nd someday I shall understand.
omeday He ll make it plain to me
omeday I, His face shall see
omeday from tears I shall be free
or someday I shall understand.
