BRYAN. Ruth E. - Putnam

Ruth E. Nelson, 81, Knightsville, died Saturday morning at Cloverleaf Healthcare, Knightsville.

Born April 25, 1919 in Brazil, she was the daughter of Charles and Perda McCullough Bryan.

She married Harlan A. Boyce on Dec. 24, 1935, and he preceded her in death June 1, 1944. She married Harlan Nelson on Nov. 10, 1961, and he also preceded her in death.

She was employed for several years as a local telephone operator at the Clay County Phone Co. She was a member of the Golden Circle of Manhattan Club.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Patty Carman and husband Charles, Greencastle, and a stepson, Dale Nelson and wife Darlene, Greencastle; three stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; six stepgreat-great-granddaughter; a niece, a nephew and a great-nephew.

In addition to two husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Bryan, and a sister-in-law, Betty Bryan.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calcutta Cemetery, Clay County. Rev. Ernie Rush will officiate.

Visitation is set for noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home, Brazil.
