BRYAN, Frances Clark

Mrs. James Bryant, wife of James P. Bryan and only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Clark both deceased died at her home on East Washington Street this morning at 8:30 o’clock after a lingering illness.  She was born in Hendricks County and her father was long a resident and prominent business man of Greencastle where her girlhood days were passed.  She was united in marriage to James P. Bryan, Jan 26, 1876 at her home at Stilesville and her life was passed in this immediate vicinity.  There were born to this union four children: Minnie Bryan Rector; Alex Clark; Chauncey Lee and John Lawrence, all of whom with the father and one brother Chauncey Clark of Indianapolis survive.  There were also present at the beside the grandchildren: Frances Rector; Mary Margaret; Kenneth; Maurice; Helen Russell, Virginia and Betty Jean Bryant.  As will be noted from above Mr. and Mrs. Bryan were married Jan 26, 1876 thus rounding out a long married life of 54 years with no visitations that removed one from the family circle.  Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the residence.  Burial will be at Forest Hill cemetery.   ~~~transcribed by kbz
