Reelsville—Levi C. Brown, 80, Reelsville, died at 11:57 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 1989 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute.
He was born June 20, 1908 in Fontanet, the son of James and Saphrona Carlin Brown.
He had been a coal miner for 20 years at Arketex Plant 3 and was retired. He was a member of Brazil Moose Lodge, Brazil Eagles Lodge and the National Rifle Association.
Surviving are a son, Larry Levi, Reelsville; three daughters, Barbara Buchanan, Orlando, Fla.; Norma Brown Glenn, Columbus, Ind., and Javetta Brown, Coal Bluff; three brothers, Walter, Bridgeton; Arthur, Waynetown, and Everett, Roachdale; two sisters, Faye Carlin, Rockville, and Viola Urbain, Bridgeton; 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Feb. 24 at Mattox-Wood Fontanet Chapel with the Rev. Don Mosely officiating. Burial was in Clear Run Cemetery, Bridgeton. – thanks to s

Fontanet - Levi C. Brown, 80 of Rt 1, Reelsville, father of Norma Glenn of Columbus died at 11:57 a.m. Tuesday at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. Brown retired from Architect Plant No 3 and was a coal miner for 20 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge in Brazil, Eagles Lodge and the NRA. Funeral will be conducted by Don Mosley at 2 p.m. Friday at Mattox Wood Funeral Home in Fontanet where calling will be from 4-8 p.m. today. Burial will be at Clear Run Cemetery in Bridgeton.
